Based in Toronto, Rose Bolton is established as a composer who creates and envisions new sounds in the areas of classical and electronic music. Her concert music has been performed across Canada by Canada’s leading ensembles, including the Vancouver Symphony, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the Esprit Orchestra, L'ensemble contemporain de Montréal, and the Aradia Ensemble. In the past five years, she has written and produced six full scores for the documentaries of director Marc de Guerre, all of which were broadcast on the CBC main network. As a live performer on violin, viola and electronics, has performed extensively as a solo artist as well as with some of Canada’s finest musicians in many genres, ranging from experimental improvising to traditional Celtic fiddling and ceilidh dances, to country and bluegrass music.
