Marc DeGuerre is a two-time Gemini Award winning documentary writer and director who lives and works in Toronto, Canada. He has been making films since 2000 for broadcasters such as Arte Paris, LogoTV, Avro Holland, the Documentary Channel, CBC and TVOntario. His films are reflective of his broad interests in the areas of art, human behaviour, masculinity, popular culture, sexuality, and technology. His most recent film Beauty and Ruin, a feature documentary on the fate of the Detroit Institute of Art in a bankrupt city, has been commissioned by Arte Paris and Super Channel. He is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, and spent many years as a working visual artist, before transitioning to documentary film. His art background is a very important element of his filmmaking. Accompanied by Rose Bolton.
