J.D. KRUGER is the founder and owner of GLP4, GREEN LION PRODUCTIONS AND PUBLICATION HOUSE, focusing on the production and publication of new video, music, literature and live theatre presentation in Canada. As a former professor of applied linguistics and literature, he has worked at most of the public houses in Canada, including THE NATIONAL ARTS CENTRE, THEATRE PASSE MURAILLE, AND FACTORY and HARBOURFRONT CENTRE. A taboo artist, his works have ranged from the seminal, WEANING GOLD, WANING GOLD, to JUST ME AND YOU, AND THE VOICE OF LIARS, in the theatre, to his most recent documentaries, on the murder of Sammy Yatim, REQUIEM AND AFTERMATH, and the video on Rob Ford’s crack cocaine scandal and the SOMALIAN COMMUNITY, 320 DIXON ROAD. His recent compilation of selected music, THE WARBLERS ANTHOLOGY, can be found on Jango and Reverbnation, and spin to international acclaim. A regular saxophone performer and vocalist at most clubs in the city, including The Big Bop, The Cameron House, and Lee’s Palace, his will be going into composition of a new Jazz album soon, release date TBA. His photography and drawings, are notorious, on Google+ where he has houndreds of thousands of viewers. Hunger, his second novel, is about sex, drugs and rock and roll, in millennial Toronto, focusing, on The Grad Centre for Drama, at U of Toronto, where he did an honorable masters, and B Ed. At OISE. Hunger is a novel of love triangles, which focuses on a Hindu girl named Shanti and a Jewish scholar, named Jack Zion. It can be found on Kobo and Amazon, where it enjoys marginal success. This reading is dedicated to his former friend and talented poet, Nik Beat, who died recently, of unnatural causes.
