Montreal-born Dawn Wilkinson is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the Canadian Film Centre. She has directed TV Series (How To Be Indie, She's The Mayor), short films (Girls Who Say Yes, Instant Dread, Dandelions), and a feature film (Devotion). Dawn started her career as the director's apprentice on Norman Jewison's film The Hurricane. In 2008, she won the WIFT DGC Emerging Television Director Award. Her latest short film Wilderness premiered at the Cannes Short Film Corner and won The Platinum Remi Award for Best Original Short Subject at WorldFest Houston. She recently directed an episode of Murdoch Mysteries for Shaftesbury and CBC/ITV Studios Global Entertainment. Wilkinson is currently developing the TV adaptation of The Polished Hoe, the Giller Award winning novel by Austin Clarke and is co-creator of children's comedy series Jump Up which is in development with John May and Suzanne Bolch and their company Heroic TV. She has directed 4 episodes of Degrassi, going into production again days after the box screening.
